ZAPPATiKA is a Frank Zappa tribute band featuring ex member Ike Willis. Ike joined Frank Zappa’s band in 1978 and was his right-hand man for many years, playing on over 30 Zappa albums. He is particularly well-known for his vocal contributions to the rock opera Joe’s Garage (1979) and the conceptual musical Thing-Fish (1984). The band was formed in 2008, and their repertoire consists of over 30 Zappa songs, from various albums an eras.
Since Sander joined ZAPPATiKA, they went on tour in the UK twice, in 2018 and 2019, as well as performing in Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands. One of the UK shows was recorded, and released as a live album, “Highway Maintenance (Live in the UK)”.
